Reunion Time!

Time to get together again in the cool of Fall as we all try to cram into the Lodge at Camp Tahkodah!  Bring your stories, your memories (or what’s left of them), your old photos, your CPAP machines, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs, and let’s have some fun!

Chi Sig Brothers,

The reunion dates are three weeks from today!  Hoping everyone can attend and catch-up with others that maybe you have not seen since graduation. We have a special request for this email. 

  1. Please reply (to Malcom) if you are or are not attending so we can have a count for the food preparation and how many bunks are needed at the camp.  If you have any questions about the event please send an email to Malcom or text him at 770.815.0981. Please include in your texts “Chi Sigs” so it will not be viewed as spam.
  2. To see those registered for the Chi Sig reunion go to the web site Carl Powell built for us for the reunion. (Thank you Carl!) The web site link is chisigs2019.com
  3. We have attempted to contact as many as we can. However, please forward this email to others Chi Sigs that have not responded or may not be aware of the reunion. They can register at the web site.

Below are the details of the Chi Sig Reunion 2019:

Arrival: 2:00 pm Friday, September 20th.

Depart: Noon Sunday, September 22nd.

Location:  Camp Tahkodah, 5095 Camp Tahkodah Rd, Floral, AR 72534

Bring:  Sleeping bags, blankets, pillows for the bunks. Pictures you may want to share. Board games etc.

Cost:  $70 per person, covering camp rental and food. Please bring cash or check.

Agenda:

Friday 20th

2 pm: Arrival and registration. Bunk assignments.

6 pm-7: 30 pm: Dinner: Hamburgers, Hot dogs cookout. 

7:30 pm-8:00 pm: Clean-up

8pm-Whenever:  Welcoming and Reminiscing

Saturday 21st

7:30 am: Prepare breakfast. Eggs,  bacon, biscuits, toast, coffee, orange juice.

8:00-9:00: Breakfast served. 

9:00 Clean up.

11:30: Prepare lunch- Sandwiches…ham, turkey, cookies, chips…soft drinks.

12:00-1:00pm: Lunch served. (Maybe some special guests will show up)

2:00-4:00pm:  Cornhole Competition (no wagering please)

6:00 Prepare Dinner “The Eddie Beene” fish-fry extravaganza. Coleslaw, hush puppies, tea, pie, soft-drinks.

6:30 pm to 8:00: Dinner served.

8:00 pm: Clean-up

9:00: Meeting & Devotional

Sunday 22nd

Breakfast…same time as Saturday

9:00-10:00 Worship and Communion

10-12:00 Wrap-up.

There will be drinks and snacks all day on Saturday in the main hall of the camp.

Eat, Sleep, Walk, Go to the bathroom

In some ways, it will be just like any other day,  but we’ll be together, we’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll share, we’ll pray, we’ll be refreshed, we’ll be able to unload, and we’ll fellowship. And, of course… we’ll EAT!

Who is invited?

If you were in Chi Sigs, or were closely associated with us from about 1976 – 1980, then you’re probably invited. 

BYOB, etc.

OK, Now that I have your attention… you can see important information in this area.

Bring your own Brew! We’ll have a Keurig Coffee Maker on hand, so you can bring your own flavor of coffee if you like. We’ll also have some medium coffee available for anyone who does not normally use a Keurig and has no particular coffee favorite.

Emergency Contact Info OK, we admit it. We’re starting to be at least middle-aged. So, there is the (rare) chance that an issue could come up with one of us. So, in your “info/description” area of your user profile, please add your emergency contact and a phone number where they can be reached. Thanks!

Register even if you’re not coming! We want to keep everyone updated whether you’re able to attend the reunion or not. So, go ahead and register and you’ll be in the list. If you plan to attend, add “YES” to the end of your name in the profile as in: “Carl Powell – Yes” so others will know you will be there. You should be able to see and edit your profile at any time if you are registered on the site.
